How to make Reese peanut butter cookies?

Most mornings I look at what news is going on and it’s usually something Covid-19 inspired.  This one particular morning it was still Covid-19 inspired but about this amazing peanut butter recipe that was all the rage on Tik Tok and everyone was making while social distancing at home.  I’m always up for trying a new cookie recipe so I decided to give it a try.  Unfortunately, I didn’t have any chocolate chips and it is so hard to find anything in the baking aisle in a grocery store anymore!  So I went with what I could find, Reese Peanut Butter Pieces.  So here is how to make Reese Peanut Butter cookies, my version of the Tik Tok peanut butter cookie.

I have made many cookies and here is my take on this recipe:  It’s quick and easy and doesn’t require much prep.  Just mix all the ingredients together and bake.  However, the end result is, not bad.  It is a crispier cookie rather than chewy and soft.  It’s not quite a melt in your mouth peanut butter cookie  and is a little crumbly.  I think it could have used more chips but then again I did use these teenie tiny Reese peanut butter chips rather than regular sized chocolate chips.  It’s a great quick cookie when you’re craving a peanut butter cookie and there are no bakeries open!

I have paired it with a Twinnings Lady Grey black Tea that I found in the back of a cupboard at my parents place.  It was my father’s tea.  Who knows how long it has been there but it still had some taste and not nearly as strong or astringent as I would have thought.  Nice!

Modification to this Reese Peanut Butter cookies:

Instead of adding in Reese pieces how about adding in,

  • Hershy kisses
  • Skittles
  • Smarties
  • Rolos
  • Crispy Crunch pieces
  • Whoppers

OMG! I could go on and on! I will need to try these variations soon! Now instead of How to make Reese peanut butter cookies? We will have “How to make <insert chocolate bar or candy> cookies?” I think I have another series of cookies to add to my 12 days of shortbread series. Stay tuned!
